《Regarding
the issue of PCB containing Pigments》
Thank you for your continuous
support to Dainichiseika Group. Regarding the concern towards the PCB issue, our company would like to solemnly explain the proper
measures to
be taken here.
1. Details
of the issue:
l On January, 2011, ETAD (The Ecological and Toxicological Association
of Dyes and Organic Pigments Manufacturers) officially
announced report,
in which a certain kind of pigments
may unintentionally generate a little amount of PCB content, was revealed.
l On May, 2011, the internal committee of ETAD disclosed the name of PCB containing organic pigments and a numerical data to the present company. (This data had not been
announced
officially)
l On June, 2011, Japan Dyestuff and Industrial
Chemicals Association, after receiving such information, requested
main business corporations (who are manufacturers and importers of
such Organic Pigments.) for further investigation and analysis. On
August, after the selection of pigments and analytical conditions, 6
corporations started their pigment analysis.
l At the end of December, 2011, 6 main
corporations summarized their analytical results and found little
amount of PCB contained in some kinds of pigments. On January, 2012,
Japan Dyestuff and Industrial Chemicals Association reported the
analytical results and started to collect the information of delivery
situation and the uses of PCB containing pigments.
2, Uses of
PCB containing pigments
l On 1st February, 2012, Japan
Dyestuff and Industrial Chemicals Association reported the analytical
results to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
l Thereafter, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare,
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of the Environment
started to collect the opinions from 6 main corporations.
Administrative
guidance regarding
“The
Organic Pigments which may generate PCB unintentionally”
As a member of Japan Dyestuff and Industrial Chemicals
Association, our company, after the investigation of PCB containing
pigments, has reported the results to the Ministry of Economy, Trade
and Industry.
On 10th February, the Ministry of Economy, Trade
and Industry exercised administration guidance on the production,
importation and delivery of those organic pigments which exceeds the
international standard, for business corporations including our
company.
Our company has taken proper response to
related products as follow.

of Chemical Substance: Pigment red-112 Product Name: Permanent Red GY, ZA862 Red
1.
The
production and delivery in progress will be suspended.
2.
Future
production and delivery will also be suspended.
3.
Sales
record in past 3 years will be reviewed and requested those customers
to stop the use of related pigments.
4.
To
recall those pigments from customers who still have in stock.
REMARKS:
We, Dainichiseika (HK)
Ltd, do NOT find any sales record of above 2 related items in
our past 5 years selling history. If you purchased those products
through other ways, please contact us.

Besides
the above-mentioned enterprises, we do not had any kind of
investment nor setting up any branch in any other region of
China. We also do not permit any other enterprise or organisation to use Dainichiseika's
trademark. Any unit or organisation
other than the 13 enterprises conducting any form of commercial
activities in China under the name of Dainichiseika (includes but
not limited to the names of our company, our invested enterprises
and subsidiaries, our affiliates, our agents, the authorized
user(s) of Dainichiseika's trademark and etc.) is deemed fraud
and illegal. We and the 13 enterprises we invested do not have
any lawful and actual relations to that. The improper competition
incurred by such kind of activities will hurt the trademark
rights and other civil rights of our company. To this,
Dainichiseika reserve the right to take legal action.
